CFM Training of Trainers, Goma (DR Congo)

by The Rev. Desire Mukanirwa Kadorho

The Goma July certification TOT went very well. In fact, 15 participants, among them archdeacons and priests, attended the seminar for 2 days in the Anglican Pastoral Center and Guest House. To reduce the costs, we just invited few and those living in the nearest places. The Goma TOT was coupled by the certification delivery.

Generally speaking, people were very enthusiastic after completing this programme and are determined to start this ministry when back at their respective churches. Following is the participants’ point of view concerning the CFM during the interview:

1. First Interview:

I am very happy and blessed to have been impacted in the CF learning. This will help me to do likewise to my people back home. I can see that this one help the church to grow spiritually. I will therefore gather my community (pastors, lay readers and Christians) to make them disciples through CFM teachings.

My recommendation is to have more CF books translated in Kiswahili that would be used during the training in my church and these can make this ministry very easy.

2. Second Interview:

I am actually touched through this ministry that has been brought in our diocese of Bukavu. This ministry has opened my heart.

Now from here I will go and start this ministry back to my Parish to help others to get empowered by knowing Jesus and serving Him better.

3. Third Interview:

I am blessed by this programme because it help me learn how to make participative method during the lesson. I am also very happy because from now I can lead some body to grow spiritually. I will request as a recommendation to give us CFM books that would facilitate the work to be effective and efficient.

4. Fourth Interview:

I can loudly say that CFM had blessed me. It had revealed many things that I did not know before, yet I spent many years in the ministry. I thank the International coordinator, the donors and the facilitators. I recommend that the national coordinator should make a follow up of this ministry.

5. Fifth Interview:

The CF teaching had insighted in me new spiritual things that I cannot express right now. But I can sense new strength within me. I feel I have new relationship with God. I would recommend that this ministry go every where in our Anglican province of the DRCongo. Further funds can help facilitate this ministry.

My Personal Point of View and Recommendation:

I want first of all thank Canon Cris for all her CFM heart centered and her willingness to expand this ministry worldwide. I also want to thank all the donors who had granted the funds so that this programme takes place in our Province. May the Almighty richly bless all of you.

We need prayers so that this programme makes changes in people’s hearts for God’s glory. We also need to multiply other copies that would be given to different groups in the diocese in particular and in the province in general.

There is also need to make some time visits the centers in diocese for making a following up by the coordinator. But this will obviously need financial support.

The next step is to plan for the trainers of other dioceses at once, and from that they will train others in their respective dioceses and then the CFM would be implemented in the Whole Province of Anglican church in DRCongo.
