- Full Materials Available
The need for a sound, conservative, and proven
teaching method is widespread. With its emphasis on the fundamental
elements of Christian Faith, this biblically based teaching system
represents a powerful tool ideally suited to the challenges of
our time.

A method in which even Archbishops are students as well as teachers.

The Christian Formation
process is designed to help students:
Understand the substance and context
of the apostolic Faith,
Experience the passion, joy, and exuberance
of the Faith in their lives, and
Express in words and actions the vibrant,
transforming power of the Gospel. |
 |
| |
 |
|
Those who experience Christian Formation
are not only equipped to stand firm, but are also empowered to
share the Good News and witness to others about the saving power
of Jesus Christ, Son of the living God.
Christian Formation Ministries, Inc. represents
both a method of instruction and a complete set of materials to
support the teaching and formation process.
Begun in 1982 in a single parish, this program
has now reached eight countries and has been translated into at
least nine different languages.
Christian Formation Ministries teaches and
forms disciples using the methods and approach modeled after those
used by Jesus Christ Himself
This interactive method is well suited for
anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the Christian Faith. This
includes those preparing for Baptism, Confirmation, Reception or
renewal of vows.
Students are drawn into a fuller and more
complete understanding of their faith as their journey evolves
from learning new information to becoming a new person as CF works
to:
Inform. Students
understand the substance and context of the apostolic Faith.
(God speaks.)
Form. Students
experience the passion, joy, and exuberance of the Faith in their
lives. (They believe.)
Transform. Students
express in words and actions the vibrant, transforming power of
the Gospel. (They become new creations in Christ!)
Christian Formation Ministries helps meet
the need to make disciples both overseas and in America.
And Jesus came and said
to them; "... Go therefore
and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them ... teaching
them ..."(Matthew 28.19-20)

We
are always touched by the heart felt letters and emails we receive.
Thank you and God Bless.
FROM Malawi "You will be happy to hear that we relaunched a Christian Formation Teaching in Likoma Archdeaconry beginning from the Cathedral Parish. What we did was to introduce a small group teaching session such that we have the main group of 15 which is for the trainers of trainers run by the Priest for 12 weeks. And they in turn, have a group of 15 in their respective villages and the departments such as the Mothers Union, the Youth, the Daughters of the King and St. Agnes also for the same period of time. I hope this will continue even though I am not there.
We had a backing to produce those teaching materials from the McKinney Bible Church of Fort Worth. Thank you so much for the prayers.
Fr. Fanuel
FROM A MISSIONARY TEACHING IN SOUTHEAST
ASIA "Fabulous
notes! Written in such a clear and concise way.... they will
be of invaluable
use
to me...." (for teaching on Anglican liturgy in Southeast
Asia)
FROM KITETO, TANZANIA "I always remember
you and pray for your ministry. I never forget you because you
taught us very well and your teaching help
us a lot in our ministries."
FROM KENYA "Christian
Formation programme is taking root in our Diocese and the region
of Nyanza as a whole. I have been appointed to be the Coordinator
of Missions and Liturgical Training under which Christian Formation
is my work. Now I am going round the parishes in our Diocese
and the region training (clergy and lay) leaders on Christian
Formation. Many people are responding well and are pleased
with the material.
FROM TANZANIA "We are
serious with CFM. CFM work here will continue among my Seminarians
as prospective trainers. Pray for us as I am sure you do."
"Very often your teachings help me to
do the work of God as well as possible. I am pleased to say again
that, thank you for your teachings because the teachings are
helping us in our ministry. We always remember you and pray for
you according your ministry, we believe that your ministry will
grow and being great and all people in the world can hear about
God. May God bless you."
"The purpose of this message is to say
halo to you and to say thank you according your teachings that
you had taught us here Kiteto, Tanzania. I enjoyed your teachings
and also the teachings helps me very much in my ministry.I pray
to God in order God to help you in your ministry. May God bless
you."
FROM A FRIEND "I am sure
that your work in Rwanda will encourage the saints. Your materials
are so clear and will be
wonderful discipleship tools for the saints there."
"I pray that the LORD will keep you in
the palm of His hand, and that He will bless and guide you as
you do His work. Further, I pray that you will bring
many to His Kingdom. May it always be a great source of encouragement to you,
as well as to those of us who observe you, to consider how many souls God has
given you the privilege of touching. Recent devotional readings in Acts have
been focusing on the winning of souls by Peter and his crew. I'll leave it
there!
Further to the prayers, I remember all who
will be attending - teaching, learning and helping - that they
will be kept under His wing and enabled
to spread the Good News far afield." |

CHRISTIAN FORMATION MATERIALS NOW AVAILABLE IN SWAHILI!
Christian Formation Ministries, Inc., is please to announce that
both the Leader's Manual and the Student's Workbook of Christian
Formation are now available in Swahili. Both manuals presented
in five attractive separate "books," corresponding to
the original "Parts." This new format will make them
less expensive to purchase and more flexible for use in various
situations.
This project has been a long time in the making.
After several years of providing the KiSwahili translation as photocopies
of
pages written on an old typewriter, CFM now offers the books in
computer-generated form. The books will be sent to Tanzania in
a container, and will be kept at the Anglican Seminary in Dar es
Salaam, from where they can easily be sent throughout East Africa
and beyond.
This effort involved a number of hardworking Anglican Christians
committed to the formation and nurture of disciples of Jesus Christ.
Originally translated by Bishop Maternus Kapinga of the Diocese
of Ruvuma, Tanzania, the books were typeset on computer by Neema
Mbinhe of the Diocese of Kiteto, Tanzania this past year.
For the final editing in January, Cris Fouse came from the USA,
Neema (whose name means "Grace" in Swahili, came from
Tanzania, and the Bishop of Kiteto, John Hayden, came over from
Birmingham, England, to make certain that the transfer to the computer
was not only correct, but conveyed what the English meant to say

The three of us worked for five days in Leicester,
England, at the home of another lovely young woman who had been
on mission in Kiteto.
We worked from 8:00 a.m. sharp until 10:00 or 11:00 p.m. with hardly
a break. When we were hungry, we went to the kitchen and grabbed
something to bring back to the table in order to continue working.
Karen was a gracious hostess who provided for all our needs before
we asked.
Being in England in January was quite an adventure for young
Neema. Only 21 years of age, she had never been out of Tanzania.
She was so cold, that even inside the house she wore a heavy coat,
several scarves, mittens, and my fuzzy warm slippers. She also
had her first experience of snow.
We Praise God for putting together all the pieces and enabling
this work to be completed in a loving and dedicated atmosphere. |
